How a decline in the initial investment affects Net Present Value.

Q: Explain how a decline in the initial investment will affect the net present value, holding all other parameters as constants?

A: When calculating the net present value, the initial investment is subtracted from the present value of the future expected net cash flows. Therefore, a decrease in the initial investment will cause a rise in the net present value.
